Sweet Time takes the gourd as its core form, turning an auspicious Eastern symbol into an everyday white porcelain cup.

The body is a large gourd cut crosswise, round and full, symbolizing capacity and embrace; the handle becomes a small gourd whose easy curve supports the fingers with a warm, natural grip.

One large and one small, the two gourds lean on each other in a structure that interlocks yet stays steady. The body tilts slightly, like two figures resting together — poetic at rest, responsive to the hand in use, so the object becomes an extension of an emotional bond.

Heinrich Wang, founder of NewChi Porcelain and of Tittot, is one of Taiwan's most representative contemporary artists in white porcelain and glass.
