Design Inspiration | Mountains and Water as an Imagined Utopia

Inspired by the terrain and weather of the Taipei Basin, Harmony brings the visual language of "sea and sky as one, moon and water without end" into its form. The rippled lid rises like layered mountains, and the body's profile lifts from low to high, like a mountain slope or the faint ripple of water.

The spout and handle are hidden within the form, their turns barely visible — an expression of the Eastern tea ideal of respect without words. Quiet yet strong, still yet full of movement, the set makes tea a silent conversation between mountain and water, host and guest, vessel and heart.

This work restates the spirit of "vessel and measure": form gives measure to the mind, rhythm brings balance to the senses, and between one pot and one cup, feeling runs deep.

Heinrich Wang, founder of NewChi Porcelain and of Tittot, is one of Taiwan's most representative contemporary artists in white porcelain and glass. He brings philosophy and poetry into the design of objects; his work has been invited to exhibitions at art institutions in Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing, New York, Paris and Tokyo, and is held in collections in Taiwan and abroad. Each piece is personally overseen by Heinrich Wang, bringing together artistry, culture and everyday use.
