Horns in accord, each in its place
Each ram lifts its own head, yet their horns meet at the top in harmony, each completing the others. In Chinese, 角 means both “horn” and “role”: when everyone holds their place well, together they make a whole.
Auspicious as a sheep
Inscriptions on ancient bronzes and ceramics often wrote 吉祥 (“auspicious”) as 吉羊, “auspicious sheep.” Auspicious Beginning carries this vocabulary of blessing into contemporary white porcelain.
Three yangs, a fresh start
三羊 (“three sheep”) sounds like 三陽 (“three yangs”), the returning warmth of spring. The piece suits gifts for a new year, a new venture or a new life.
A seal designed by Heinrich Wang
The base bears 三羊開泰 in seal script, designed by Wang. Pressed in seal paste, it leaves a red impression, extending the piece from something to admire to something to use.
